HEART – Herning Museum of Contemporary Art is proud to present its first solo-exhibition with American artist Cory Arcangel (born 1978). The exhibition will open on March 22, 2014 and will feature Arcangels new productions as well as a selection of previous seminal works.
Though Arcangel is only 35 years old he has been regarded as a pioneer of using digital technologies within contemporary art for over 10 years now. One of his early seminal works was his Super Mario Clouds series where he had hacked into old Nintendo game cartridges, which led him to make further works focusing on consumer technologies.
Over the years Arcangel has achieved international success and acclaim and has exhibited extensively at both galleries and major museums, such as the Carnegie Museum of Art, The Whitney Museum, The Barbican, and MOCA, Miami. He is represented by team gallery, Inc. in New York, Lisson Gallery in London and Thaddaeus Ropac Gallery in Paris.
The exhibition, All the small Things, is part of HEART’s Future Programme, which has been made possible thanks to the generous support of the Obel Family Foundation.
